Show Notes

Superintendent HD Chambers visits with Alief ISD high school students who decided to pursue special high school programs while still in middle school. Students in the Life Sciences Innovative Academy and in the Alief Early College High School will graduate with an associate's degree from Houston Community College prior to receiving their high school diploma from Alief ISD. Students in the Alief International Academy are taught to think critically, engage globally and thrive competitively, while Kerr High School offers students the opportunity to work in a non-traditional, self-managed learning environment similar to college. Students from these alternative learning environments visit with the superintendent about the benefits of the programs, what they have learned and their future aspirations.
